The 18th annual Epcot® Food and Wine promises to be better than ever. The festival extends from September 27th to November 11th 2013. New at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival includes a Scottish marketplace, an encore engagement from Brazil, and the most talented group of celebrity chefs ever assembled for this year’s event.

New Programs, Tastes and Attractions

The team and staff at Walt Disney World® always do a great job of keeping the culinary treats at the festival as fresh and innovative as possible. New at the 2013 Epcot food and wine festival include:

  • Epcot will add a Scottish marketplace featuring traditional culinary pleasures paired with Scotch, and sparkling mead. For those who have never had the pleasure to drink mead,  in its basic traditional form it is chilled and contains honey, orange peel, cinnamon and fresh ginger root. Some consider mead as one of the oldest alcoholic beverages in the world.
  • Although Brazil had been in the marketplace program in past years, the country’s culinary showcase returns with a revised appetizer menu. Brazil is known for its variety of root vegetables and indigenous local foods which make food so enjoyable in the country.
  • 160 local and celebrity chefs have invited to add a sense of diverse flavor to this year’s 46 day long celebration. Celebrity chefs at the Epcot food wine program include Paula DaSilva, Emily Ellyn, Gale Gand and Allen Susser.  Each of these chefs are unique in their approach. For instance, Brazilian native Paula DaSilva was a pioneer in the farm-to-table concept cooking that she so deftly brought to market in Miami Beach.

Other notable entertainment at the 2013 Epcot festival will be the “Eat to the Beat” concert series at the American Adventure Pavilion. The food and wine music will kick-off with Starship and Mickey Thomas on September 27th, Sister Hazel in early October, Smash Mouth in late October and conclude with big bad Voodoo Daddy in November.
