We have done a little research and something sports related is about to come to Orlando that has only happened once in the last 10 years. It’s professional golf, NCAA® basketball in Orlando and 6 MLB spring training baseball games all in one March 2014 sports week/weekend, and all in Central Florida! March 20th to March 23rd 2014 could be the sports event week/weekend of a lifetime.

Make your plans now for these March 2014 sports weekend Orlando (March 20-23) events:

  • Arnold Palmer Invitational PGA golf tournament at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge
  • NCAA “March Madness” 2nd and 3rd round basketball games at the Amway Center (6 games)
  • Major League Baseball spring training at various venues throughout Central Florida (6 games)

If you throw in an opportunity to see the Florida Gators, New York Mets and Boston Red Sox, it might even be the sports weekend of a lifetime!

Arnold Palmer Invitational 2014 at Bay Hill Club & Lodge

The Bay Hill Club & Lodge will be the site of the prestigious Arnold Palmer® Invitational from March 20th-23rd. The first golfers (apart from the Pro Am) will first tee it up on Thursday, March 20th at 7:30 am. Weekend play on March 22nd and 23rd begins at 9 am. Benefiting charities for the Arnold Palmer Invitational 2014 include the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies.

The field for this year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational appears to be top notch. Player commitments (subject to change) include Tiger Woods, Patrick Reed, Brandt Snedeker, Adam Scott, Bubba Watson and Graeme McDowell.

NCAA Regionals Men’s Basketball “March Madness” at the Amway Center

The Amway Center in downtown Orlando will be the host site for the NCAA Second and Third round men’s basketball games. There will be a total of six games with four taking place on Thursday, March 20th and two on Saturday, March 22nd.

Although all six of these games promise to be thrilling games, local sports fans have been buzzing about the Florida Gators playing in Orlando on Thursday at 4:50 pm.  The Gators finished the regular season and as SEC tournament champions and will move into the NCAA tournament as a #1 seed. The Louisville Cardinals will also join the Florida Gators by playing at the Amway Center as well.

Major League Baseball “Spring Training” in Central Florida

Several major league teams make Central Florida their home for spring training. Spring training in Central Florida gives every fan the opportunity to see their favorite teams in much smaller venues.
