This web blog takes the guesswork out of booking Orlando area vacation homes. It is an essential vacation guide that you can trust. By rating individual vacation communities, our independent reviews give you  comfort that you are booking the right vacation rental based on your family’s needs and expectations. This takes into account location, amenities and area information.

We continue to add video reviews and ratings of new resort communities in Davenport, Kissimmee and Clermont almost on a regular basis. We believe we have the most comprehensive profiles, maps and independent ratings on vacation subdivisions in the Orlando area. Please click on the resort community review section of our website for more detailed information on each subdivision. Premium Orlando villas such as Windsor Hills Resort and Emerald Island Resort are reviewed on the site. Our mission is to be the most comprehensive and accurate vacation guide for potential vacation home renters in Orlando.

As a new feature of our vacation rental website, you’ll notice that our evaluators continue to add video podcast reviews of each vacation home we write about. Many of our vacation community profiles feature this service, and each video review is embedded within the individual community guide. This will give you a better idea of what and your family can expect upon arrival for your Orlando vacation.

We’ll continue to cover the Orlando vacation home market with a candid and objective approach. We have expanded our coverage from Orlando/Kissimmee to vacation rentals in Davenport and Clermont as well. You’ll find some very nice accommodations in these areas which are accessible to area theme parks and attractions.

Orlando Bike Week

Orlando Bike Week is generally speaking a mirrored event to Daytona’s Bike week. For 2009 it is typically February 27, 2009 to March 8, 2009.

Orlando Bike Week

Orlando Bike Week

There is no clearly defined hangout for bike week in Orlando, but Orlando Harley Davidson ® appears to be a clear favorite (see our interactive map below).

The events at Orlando Harley Davidson go on all day and generally get busier in the afternoon. They offer live band, bar, an array of shops and various custom bikes on show. The event is well organized with on site parking for motor cylcles and slightly off site parking for cars (with shuttle).

Many bikers like to go to Orlando during bike week to visit some of the local attractions.

Perhaps most amazing is how global Bike Week has become in Central Florida. A large portion of the people now attending bike week are in fact visitors from overseas who come to Central Florida just for the bike week experience.

As always, we recommend if coming to Orlando for bike week consider renting a vacation home, especially if you are bringing a bike so you can store it in your own garage away from busy hotel parking lots.

SNAD: Significantly Not As Described.

Yes, there is a term for it! You rent an Orlando vacation home or condo that looks great in the photos, but when you get there, the subdivision is less than desired and the house is dirty and has stained carpets.

This is a major problem. The community reviews contained on this blog should give you a leg up on making sure your vacation home meets your expectations including our video reviews of most vacation rental communities.

Your Orlando vacation home management company should be able to provide you with a detailed standardized score of your specific vacation home or condo before you book it. Further, they should warranty the cleanliness of the Orlando vacation home and that the property was inspected the morning of your check-in. You can then pair up this home specific information to the vacation home community reviews we post regularly.

Without this information this can be a difficult process, as some vacation home companies have a vested interest in you booking the homes they manage over someone else’s. As we describe on another blog, absentee homeowners who do not employ a management company may not be in town to inspect the property before it’s occupied by the next guest.

In Orlando, some of the vacation home communities are less than desirable, and some of the homes are just plain poor. If you know where to look, some of the Orlando vacation home community subdivisions are amazing and the homes are wonderful. Please consult our vacation home reviews contained on this site as a reference when booking your Orlando vacation.

Some sites try to provide you information on the homes, but they have vested interests by the owners and managers, as described above. This vacation home blog will continue to provide you with information that will help you make the right choice for your Orlando villa.

Booking with a well managed and professional vacation home management company is key. Ask them what type of quality assurance practices they have in place to assure your vacation home rental is the pinnacle of quality. A well managed vacation home management company will not hesitate to tell you.

The best way to learn is to ask questions. Got a question on a vacation home or a community subdivision? Email us. We respond for free.
