Orange County Convention Center Still Shining Brightly for Orlando!

Every so often we like to check in and see what our friends over at the Orange County Convention Center are up to, and suffice to say it’s always a lot! It’s truly a world class facility. For this post, we’ll also reiterate some of our best vacation rentals near the Orange County Convention Center.

Also known as “The Center of Hospitality,” the OCCC works non-stop promoting central Florida and providing world class hospitality. The OCCC responsibilities also include hosting multiple conventions, special events, and trade shows.

About the OCCC

According to their website, the OCCC is the second largest convention facility in the country. Made up of 2 huge complexes on International Drive, the North/South and the West buildings combine to house 7 million total square feet. This includes over 2 million square feet of exhibition space! No wonder the country’s largest businesses and exhibitors flock to Orlando every year!

The center is ideal for corporate use, boasting 74 meeting rooms totaling nearly 480,000 square feet. The OCCC has an additional 232 breakout rooms for even more meeting and activity space, as well as WIFI access and a FedEx Office Business Center. With all of these options, the center is very flexible and can accommodate most any size group or industry.

The OCCC also provides tremendous opportunities for entertaining and the cultural arts. The 62,000 square foot Valencia Ballroom, located in the West building, is perfect for large events and gatherings. The building is also home to the Linda W. Chapin Theater which seats 2,643, as well as a more intimate Lecture Hall that seats 160 for smaller groups. The center is also a showcase for the public arts. The OCCC facilities display hundreds of pieces of contemporary and fine art thru-out its corridors.

Dining Options at the Orange County Convention Center

With the amount of people visiting the center daily, the OCCC excels in catering to everyone’s dining needs. Thru its affiliation with food industry leader Centerplate, the convention center houses over 50 retail dining concepts. This includes 8 food courts and a café that offer everything from deli sandwiches to pizza, burgers and even BBQ.

There are also seated dining options that offer up multiple types of cuisine to please every taste including coffee and desserts. They also proudly feature multiple “fresh food” options. As if that’s not enough, the center also makes available chair massage services to groups by request … a really nice amenity for those seeking a relaxation break!
