Travel to Orlando Aided by New Attraction Openings in 2014

Although the Walt Disney World® attendance was boosted by the opening of the Sven Dwarfs Mine Train ride, this was by no means the only exciting new area attraction in 2014.

Other new attractions that helped boost or plan to boost travel to Orlando Florida in 2014 include:

  • Universal Resort® introduced its highly promoted Diagon Alley in July. This should only help to incrementally help visitor counts moving forward.
  • Legoland Florida did its part by opening the new Duplo® Valley attractions in May geared to families and toddlers
  • Aquatica which is owned by SeaWorld opened Ihu’s Breakaway Falls™ earlier in 2014. This has been billed as the steepest and tallest multi-drop water slide in Orlando.

All in all, the increases in visitation to Central Florida came as a result of the commitment these venues have to quality entertainment. Sustaining continued visitor growth will come as a direct result of this focus on positive guest experiences.
