Jimmy Fallon New York Ride Universal Studios Orlando 2016
A few Universal Orlando rumors that come to mind are Skull Island, the new Volcano Bay water park, and Sapphire Falls Resort . Additional Universal rumors center around what is shaping up for the Jimmy Fallon Ride further down the line in 2017.
Skull Island
We previously blogged about Skull Island: Reign of Kong a few months ago. This is certainly one of the Universal Orlando rumors that came true. Skull Island is the first major attraction to debut for Universal since the smash hit Harry Potter attraction opened a few years ago. The Skull Island attraction is expected to open in mid-2016.
Volcano Bay Water Park at Universal Orlando
Volcano Bay is planned to take the place of Wet N’ Wild with confirmed Universal Orlando rumors that WNW will close down in late 2016. Adjacent to Cabana Bay Beach Resort on more than 50 acres of land, the new water park will straddle the southernmost side of Universal and parallel Turkey Lake Road.
The namesake for the water park comes from a centrally located volcano and from which artist renderings show water slides and rapids overflowing flowing. Additional Universal Orlando rumors have the water park opening as early as late 2016, but more likely in 2017.
Sapphire Falls Resort
Sapphire Falls will be a privately developed resort with a Caribbean themed atmosphere within the Universal Orlando footprint. Other resorts and hotels nearby Universal include Portofino Bay, Royal Pacific, Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Hard Rock Hotel®.
The current Universal Orlando rumors have it that the guest rooms will be atypical rooms one would find in a hotel setting with mini refrigerators. The King Suites will be the largest Sapphire Falls accommodations in upwards of 500 square feet in size.
Jimmy Fallon Ride at Universal Orlando
As we blogged about recently, the Jimmy Fallon ride set for 2017 is greatly unsettled. Recent entertainment industry sources have the ride as being sort of a surreal experience “inside the mind of Jimmy Fallon” combined with a 3D journey through the streets of New York City. Based on these Universal Orlando rumors of the Fallon ride itself, some are skeptical that an attraction like this has staying power.
