We wanted to follow-up our recent post on the new luxury villas at Disney with pictures and photos of the 900+ acre Golden Oak Resort. Golden Oak at Walt Disney World Resort® promises to be a magnificent development with additional details provided on the Disney development website.

Attention to detail is already evident in the care and detail of the new sales and administration center under construction (See brief video, pictures and photos). In case you missed it, prices start at $1.5 million for these exclusive estate resort homes.

According to the website, there will be select choices in four different subdivisions. The four prestigious neighborhoods include Carolwood and Carolwood Reserve which will be ultra-premium estate homes built on up to 3/4 of an acre of land. Disney’s Hollywood Studios™
At 10:00 PM on July 4th, Disney’s Hollywood Studios™ has a special Independence Day fireworks show. A special “Fantasmic” laser light show performance will be held at the Hollywood Hills amphitheater at 9:00 PM.

The Sounds Like Summer concert series will include Satisfaction – A tribute to the Rolling Stones. Showtimes include 5:15, 6:30, 7:45 and 9:00 PM on July 4th only.

Vacation rentals in Orlando, Kissimmee and Davenport are a great way to enjoy all the July 4th celebrations. Quality resort communities often offer full amenities such as community pools, playgrounds and tennis. The Disney Corporation announced that it will be expanding the Disney World Fantasyland attraction in two phases with a ready date in 2012-2013. This will reportedly replicate the California Adventure Park’s Little Mermaid ride. Most of the changes will come to the east of the current Fantasyland area and north of the Winnie the Pooh ride in Magic Kingdom. This will include attractions for Cinderella and Aurora with an elaborate ride planned with the Little Mermaid theme. An expansion to the Dumbo area is also part of the plan. This is reportedly the largest change to the Magic Kingdom Park in 38 years according to the Orlando SentinelOrlando media also has high hopes that the Fantasyland expansion will trigger strong future parks and attractions growth.

Much of the speculation from various sources indicates a commonly held belief that Universal will capture the imagination of the market in 2010 with the opening of the Harry Potter attraction. We believe that this could be part of a larger plan to upgrade the Disney theme parks in Orlando and some future creative use of the Disney and Marvel strategic partnership may be in order as well. For now, the Disney Princess and Fairies merchandise is hugely popular for Disney with over $4 billion in annual sales and the company does want to build on that.

Vacation rentals in Orlando are an excellent way to enjoy a sunny Florida vacation. Most rental homes near Disneyworld are an excellent value when you consider amenities and the fact that most homes sleep at least 6/8 persons. Consult our vacation reviews area for information on more than 80 resort communities. We do the research for you to take the stress out of planning your Orlando vacation.

Speculation continues to abound about what is in store for the major Orlando theme parks after Disney’s recent Marvel comics acquisition. If you missed the news, the Walt Disney Company purchased Marvel Entertainment Inc. for $4 billion which includes the treasure trove of over 5,000 Marvel superhero characters.

With such powerfully branded action figures as “Spiderman”, Disney can further penetrate the “tweenager” market.

The thought of an entire theme park in Orlando geared around the Marvel characters allows one to imagine the possibilities that are now available. With Disney’s amazing ability to promote, market and effectively distribute high quality entertainment products, we cannot wait to see what happens.
