A new US consumer travel study provides more evidence of the rising demand for vacation homes and rentals.

PhoCusWright, a leading global travel research provider, indicates that the overall domestic market share for vacation rentals has increased from 12% to 24% from 2007 to 2012. With the rising economy, stabilizing local employment, and low financing rates, the demand for vacation homes and rentals is on the mend. So much so that the National Association of Realtors’® investment and vacation home national survey index rose 10% in 2012.
