As a fellow biker, please allow me to explain why staying in an Orlando vacation home can make a lot of sense for Daytona Bike Week 2009 – Feb 27-March 8.

The cost of renting an entire house in Orlando will probably cost less than renting a cramped bedroom in a fully booked and expensive Daytona motel.
Most Orlando vacation homes have garages. If you own a bike you are proud of, the last thing you want to do is leave it outside at night. Request a vacation home with a garage.
Orlando to Daytona makes for a great ride (approximately 50 minutes). In addition, you can ride in convoy which is always a blast.
Daytona’s bike week can get wild at night. If you want to relax, staying in an Orlando vacation home can make a lot of sense.
You can rent a vacation home in Orlando with your friends, as most homes have three to seven bedrooms, private pools and fully equipped kitchens.
Orlando has THE big theme parks. If you come down for bike week and stay in Orlando, you can also visit Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World to name a few.

Major League spring training baseball in Florida is almost here. The tentative Florida Grapefruit League spring training schedules are now posted for the schedules that run from February 24th – April 2nd. There’s no better place to establish your Orlando area accommodations than in Kissimmee, Florida for these family friendly activities. There are at least five teams that have have spring training play within 1 1/2 hours of Kissimmee: Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros, Washington Nationals, Detroit Tigers and Philadephia Phillies. In fact, Houston and Atlanta are in the local vicinity if you choose to stay in Kissimmee. The Atlanta Braves play at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.

Make plans to attend and enjoy the wonderful weather this time of year. Keep in mind that dates and times for each of the teams playing are still tentative. The other treat for spring training fans is the fact that several WBC games will also be played in the area in early March. Panama, Venezuela and the United States team will be playing either the Astros or Braves locally.
