Beautiful downtown Lake Eola Park is home to Earth Day Orlando 2013 on Saturday, April 20th. This is the Central Florida celebration you don’t want to miss. The time for the event is 10 am to 6 pm on the east side of the park. Festivities include educational offerings, food, art and entertainment.
Education
- Speakers – There will be 7 panels of speakers beginning at 11 am. Topics for the forums vary from youth involvement to practical sustainable practices such as water conservation.
- Sustainable Living – An activity based area of the festival includes relevant topics such as rainwater containment, solar power, gardening and composting.
- Humane Education – Discussion of programming aimed at eliminating violence and cruelty to animals.
- Kids Zone – A plethora of kids activities and events from karate to painting and from reading to Zumba.
Entertainment
- Acoustic music – This stage will feature the music of several genres of folk, family friendly rap, and feminine magical
- Band music – This entertainment area will showcase rock n’ roll, contemporary jazz, retro pop and soulful latin tunes.
Artisan Crafts
- This will be a plethora of vendors and exhibits from a wide array of artisans. These include body art, abstract art, animation, and other artistic stuff!
Food Demonstrations
- Food lovers will enjoy a series of Chef presentations beginning at 11 am. Culinary demos will range from home grown, vegan, green, organic and raw.
