Not to be out done by Universal Resort and Harry Potter, Sea World’s President Terry Prather recently announced a massive expansion of Sea World in Orlando for the Empire of the Penguin attraction.

The biggest expansion in the park’s history will include the world’s coldest new attraction called “Antarctica – Empire of the Penguin”.

The Empire of the Penguin attraction will include an interactive ride along with re-creation of the penguin habitat for park visitors to enjoy. This new park feature should be ready in 2013.

In 2012, two additional exhibits and attractions will be completed to the delight of Sea World guests. This will include Turtle Trek, a sea turtle and manatee exhibit complete with a 3D 360 degree domed theater.  The opening date for Turtle Trek is scheduled for April 27, 2012. Also slated for opening in 2012 is the debut of Freshwater Oasis, an experiential attraction at Discovery Zone that allows one to swim alongside otters and marmosets.

Despite the general economy, Orlando entertainment and park options have begun to really expand. Central Florida is on a roll including Disney (Fantasyland), Universal (Harry Potter) and the completely new Legoland Florida Park in Winter Haven. Vacation home owners as well as hotels in Orlando near Sea World are buzzing about the new visitor market growth opportunities.

This is more good news for the owners of vacation home rentals near Sea World. As the new tourist area attractions will draw even more travellers to Central Florida.  Check-out all of our community tours posted on our home page as some of these are conveniently located near Sea World Orlando.
