April Festivals in Orlando

UCF Celebrates the Arts

Friday 4/06 – Saturday 4/14

As the name suggests, this festival can best be described as a true celebration of the arts. Set to take place at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts in downtown Orlando, this schedule of events promises to deliver something for all. Here are just a few of the headliners:

Perhaps best known for her role on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory, actress and neuroscientist Mayim Bialik shows she can do a lot more than just put up with the antics of Sheldon. In this unique presentation, entitled The Big Bang Theory: Making Science Cool (& Funny), Mayim blends science and humor to explore and share how the brain works with her audience.

In what promises to be a “swinging evening of music,” you won’t want to miss this performance of Imagine Something Wonderful: The Flying Horse Big Band Meets the UCF Orchestra. Featuring special guests Veronica Swift, T-Bone, and The Jazz Professors, this eclectic lineup is sure to blow the roof off the house.

Visitors can also enjoy Bernstein’s Mass: A Theater Piece for Singers, Players and Dancers. This is an impressive collaboration of the UCF Symphony Orchestra, UCF Choirs, Theater UCF singers and dancers, and School of Performing Arts alumni in a tribute to musical legend Leonard Bernstein.

Other events scheduled are Exhibits, Performances and Talks, Readings, and much more! For a complete list, admission, and ticket info, please visit: http://arts.cah.ucf.edu/
