Arnold Palmer Invitational

With the Arnold Palmer Invitational 2013 right around the corner (March 21 – 24), we wanted to look at what’s new for this prestigious PGA event. The new Bay Hill tournament changes include the addition of the Palmer Patio, a larger field (12 more) and of course a look at professional golf’s rising stars.

Bay Hill Invitational – The New Mastercard® Palmer Patio

One of the biggest changes at this year’s tournament will be the addition of the “Mastercard Palmer Patio” to the range of premium ticket options. This air conditioned patio area will be available for player viewing on the 18th tee. This premium badge will include:

  • On site parking during the tournament
  • Complimentary food and beverages during the week
  • Player appearances on the Palmer Patio Thursday, Friday and Saturday
  • Other perks to be announced on the tournament website

If you want to be closer to the course and enjoy food and beverage during the week, this premium option is an upgrade over the Clubhouse Pass.

Field Expansion – From 120 Players to 132

In order to lessen the negative impact of a condensed 2013 PGA schedule, the Golf Channel indicates that this move will help playing opportunities during the year.  The Bay Hill Invitational 2013 is one of 4 tournaments to increase the size of players. The result for fans is perhaps the ability to see some younger players fresh from qualifying tournaments to play in the event.

2013 Brings New Players to Bay Hill

One of the new rookie faces that will hopefully make this year’s field is Russell Henley. Henley, a Georgia native, played for the Univ of Georgia and is known to have a picture perfect golf swing. Mr. Henley is a rookie on the PGA circuit and is only 23 years of age. After his recent great play, he is a rising young star you will want to watch at the course if he decides to play.

2013 Arnold Palmer Invitational – Player Commitments

Most of the tour’s marquee names will be attending this year’s tournament. These of course include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Brandt Snedeker, Bubba Watson, Graeme McDowell, and Ernie Els.

Life is Good – Vacationing in an Orlando Resort Golf Villa

Give the professionals at OVH 360 a call to reserve a villa near one of the area’s top courses. Current community and villa selections in the OVH 360 reservations portfolio include:

  • Rentals in the Windsor Hills and Emerald Island resort communities which are a short drive to the Mystic Dunes Golf Resort
  • Vacation homes in the Highlands Reserve golf community are minutes away from the Highlands Reserve golf links
  • Close in vicinity to the Highlands Reserve course in Davenport Florida is the Hampton Lakes community as well
  • A 3 bedroom Bay Hill vacation home is in our reservations portfolio, but this typically gets booked quite early

We have some great vacation home rentals in each of these golf communities. There are also a few Bay Hill vacation rentals that are close to the course and clubhouse as we mentioned. The friendly team at Orlando Vacation Homes 360 will assist you with any questions or advice as well. Give them a toll free call at 1-888-826-0551. Enjoy the great professional golf at Bay Hill!
