Of course, the biggest buzz right now at one of Central Florida’s most popular theme park destinations has got to be The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™, a fan favorite attraction which includes two park areas, Hogsmeade™ and Diagon Alley™, as well as boarding the Hogwarts™ Express to travel between the two.
What’s New? 2017 Universal Studios
Serious Harry Potter fans will want to plan to attend A Celebration of Harry Potter™ scheduled to take place from January 27-29. This is new at Universal Orlando in 2017. The event gives fans a more in-depth experience including access to special panels and demonstrations as well as film talent Q&A sessions.
As you can imagine though, there’s far more going on at Universal than Harry Potter flying through the air …

If you can’t make it to the Big Easy for Mardi Gras this year, you’re in luck in Orlando. For 50 nights in a row, starting on February 4 and going all the way through March 25, Universal will throw a party like no other! In addition to parades, floats, and lots of beads, there will be plenty of mouthwatering Cajun and Creole food available in the French Quarter Courtyard.
There will also be world-class blues and zydeco music to enjoy brought to you straight from Louisiana! Also, on select nights, some of the music’s biggest entertainers will be appearing in concert on the Music Plaza stage! Now that’s what we call a party!

Summer will arrive with a splash …literally … as Universal unveils Volcano Bay™, its very own mega water park that promises to deliver some of the most exciting water rides ever navigated by all you raft riding thrill seekers!
There will also be a huge wave pool with plenty of room for sun tanning and cabanas available. Or, you can find a nice quiet spot in a tropical lagoon! There will also be plenty of shopping and dining choices.
Volcano Bay is scheduled to open in early summer 2017, but tickets can be purchased now for those already planning a trip,
Summer will go out with a bang as Universal Orlando plays host to one of the biggest Christian music festivals of the year at Rock the Universe™, which is set to take place in early September. The annual weekend event will feature concerts from the industry’s best artists, along with meet and greets, autograph sessions, and even worship services.
So yes, it promises to be another exciting year with plenty of new at Universal Orlando in 2017!
