UK Owned Merlin Entertainment and Legoland® Florida have announced new plans for a multi-attraction water park in 2012. The new Winter Haven, Fl venues will be open in mid-2012 and will target families with kids ages 2-12. The new Legoland® Florida water park options will be available as an upgrade for a regular admission pass. The new water-oriented entertainment options will include a wave pool, water, and tube slides, soaker and raft themed attractions plus a special toddler swim area.

The six new Legoland Orlando Florida themed water venues include:

  • Duplo® Splash Safari – Splash area geared towards smaller children and includes Lego-themed characters
  • Build-a-Raft River – Challenging build-your-own raft building exercise through a lush lazy river
  • Joker Soaker – Interactive themed spray and fountain attraction for the whole family
  • Splash Out – Steeply dropping slides descend from a 60-foot high platform
  • Twin Chasers – Crisscrossing connected tube ride that empties into a refreshing water feature
  • Lego Wave Pool – A relaxing wave pool to cool off on a sunny Florida day

This is a more exciting expansion and growth for Central Florida’s tourism market. This is right on the heels of the SeaWorld Orlando Empire of the Penguin expansion set for 2012-13.

Although Legoland Florida is roughly 30-45 minutes south of Orange County, this continues to place many Kissimmee and Davenport Florida vacation homes in the perfect vacation location. Choices for vacation rentals near Legoland Florida are quite sufficient. Many resort communities in Kissimmee and Davenport Florida are ideally located for a multi-day vacation at the major parks including Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, and now Legoland. Examples of 4 Star resorts in Davenport Florida include Solana Resort and Hampton Lakes.

Check-out our reviews and profiles of the major subdivisions located in these areas provided with amenity and location details. Legoland’s new water park venues should be a huge hit with Central Florida visitors.
